"How are we supposed to know you aren't death eaters!?" Lily Evans called out, James yelled a "Yeah!" in quick succession. Light laughter filled the Hall, but with a quick look from the Headmaster, it stopped. "Well," the girl name Hermione stepped forward, she motioned toward the six other people and said, "we are from the future." "I should probably let Hermione explain, I've always been one to jump to conclusions, but you'll see that soon enough." She ignored all of the wands that were pointed at her figure as she walked toward the Head table, once she stood in front of it she sat the stack down and patted the top of it.

"Oh, yes, hi!" The Lily-look-alike exclaimed, she bent down and picked up a stack of books. They looked too old to be students of the school. "Excuse me, but may I ask who you are?" Headmaster Dumbledore asked the group of seven. A girl with blonde hair waltzed over to where a slightly chubby boy stood, and he placed an arm around her waist. "That's what being friends with the chosen one gives you," drawled a tall blonde man who looked like Lucius. "We've fought in a war, Ronald," replied a red-haired girl who could no doubt pass as Lily's twin for they looked so familiar, only this redhead had circular glasses and hazel eyes. Halfway through the speech, a bright flash of white light filled the Great Hall along with a crack, and Peter (whose eyes had begun to drift close) jumped in his seat.Ī red-haired boy with freckles rubbed the length of his forehead, "This is probably the dumbest thing we've ever done." Nowadays, the boy felt as if he were as tall as a mountain, though Remus was just as tall as him, if not taller.Īfter all of the brand new witches and wizards had been sorted into their appropriate houses, the Headmaster stood up from his seat at the Head Table and began his speech. He couldn't believe that he used to be that short. Sighing, James propped his head on a hand and set his eyes on the little first years. "While you three might not be paying attention, the Sorting is still going on." "I haven't asked her out yet! Do you think she believes I don't love her anymore!?" James stood from his seat so quick that Remus only had time to grab his pointer finger and pull him back onto his butt. The Black raised his hand in surrender, "Okay, okay, sheesh." James bumped his shoulder into Sirius's, "Shh, don't talk about Lily like that." "Prongs, the girl could wear a sheet over her head and you'd still find her beautiful," said Remus, and Sirius being who he was decided that an inappropriate joke was needed, "Of course, he would, especially if that was all she wore." "Did you see how pretty Lily looked today?" James asked his friends, his hazel eyes flickered to the redhead in question. His mind, however, was stuck on the idea of food. Remus had one werewolf ear listening to his friends and another focused on the Sorting so that he could clap at the appropriate time. The Marauders, Hogwarts's current group of pranksters, sat next to each other at the Gryffindor table, chatting over the first years that were busy being sorted into their houses.
